FEATURED ARTIST: Ana Paula Crispim @bypulica: 🇧🇷 Ana Paula Crispim's work unfolds through repetition, precision, and silence. Working under the name By Pulica, the Brazilian artist transforms ribbons into a contemporary language of rhythm, depth, and presence, where each surface is built through a patient and deliberate manual gesture. At the core of her practice is a quiet resistance to speed. Ribbon by ribbon, Crispim constructs works that seem to hold time within them, turning repetition into structure and material into atmosphere. Her pieces invite the viewer to slow down and follow the subtle movement of light across the surface. Across the Entretempo series, the ribbons become a way of exploring rhythm and perception. Deep navy, vibrant red, soft rosé and luminous gradients create surfaces that appear to pulse, shift, and breathe, revealing depth through repetition and carefully controlled movement. In the Bruma works, form becomes more atmospheric, as if the surface were dissolving into haze. In Núcleo, the language of repetition contracts into a more intimate structure, where a single point of contrast holds the composition in quiet tension. Ana Paula Crispim's current body of work shows how a simple material can become architectural, tactile, and contemplat. Through patience, precision, and the discipline of the hand, her work creates a space where light, movement, and silence meet.
