Curatorial Statement

Luana Stebule's practice unfolds as a visual language where instinct, rhythm and symbolic figuration converge into a continuous field of perception. Her abstract-figurative universe moves between the visible and the invisible, where simplified forms, luminous patterns and flowing contours become a meditation on inner balance, emotion and presence. Her instinctive brushstrokes evoke the rhythm of heartbeat and breath, suggesting a quiet state of harmony between control and release. Rather than describing fixed narratives, her paintings translate sensation into movement, allowing each surface to function as a space of emotional resonance and intuitive structure. Through her signature "dancing lines," Stebule constructs intertwined silhouettes, ribbons, geometric echoes, figures, flowers and animal presences as part of a single interconnected visual field. These elements suggest an invisible dialogue between rational thought and intuition, where meaning remains fluid and in constant transformation. Her work explores the idea of infinity through continuous flowing contours, where each form appears constructed as part of an endless cycle of existence. The canvas becomes a space of listening — to oneself, to the world, and to the spaces in between — where imagination operates as a form of perception. A painter and poet, Stebule approaches painting as a narrative field where geometry, surrealist imagination and symbolic abstraction merge into a language of human connection, multiplicity and consciousness. In this AGC curatorial feature, her paintings are presented as fragments of a larger poetic architecture: where colour becomes structure, form becomes rhythm, and the canvas opens a threshold between perception and the unseen life of imagination.
