Through thick impasto layers, sculptural brushstrokes and luminous color contrasts, his paintings do not simply depict scenes — they preserve presences. Every bench, tramway, bridge or anonymous passerby seems suspended between reality and remembrance, as though time had briefly slowed down before continuing its course. Born in Ukraine in 1958, Fadieiev worked for many years outside the traditional art world — as a policeman, a railway worker and later as the owner of an outdoor advertising agency. Painting remained a deeply personal necessity, created during weekends and quiet moments, long before exile and war forced him to leave his country for Germany. What makes his work profoundly singular is the way he transforms ordinary people into cinematic fragments of collective memory. Even when painting well-known figures such as musicians or actors, he strips away celebrity and returns them to the fragile theatre of everyday human existence. There is no grand spectacle here. Only life — waiting, walking, sitting, crossing bridges, sharing silence. Yet through texture, rhythm and color, these simple moments acquire an unexpected emotional gravity.
