About visibility

Not every piece of work is meant to circulate in the same way. Some works become public, some remain private, some exist only as steps between other steps. This is not hierarchy. It is rhythm. An artist’s practice is not a continuous exhibition. It is closer to a system of accumulation, where certain moments are shared and others are absorbed back into the process. What doesn’t get shown is not lost. It often becomes the structure that supports what eventually does. There is no obligation for everything to become a statement. Sometimes a work only needs to exist in order to allow the next one to exist.
